I have just had a bad experience at one of local Eckerd store, and here is my story:

My wife was at Norman, OK store located this afternoon, she was not quite clear about the discount associated with some of her purchased items, so she tried to make sure with the cashier, the cashier explained to her but she was obviously not convinced, surprisingly the cashier raised his voice and questioned:? Do you want it or not?? in an aggressive tone. At this point, I smelt something unpleasant, so I came to the cashier and told him that ?want it or not? was not my wife?s question, what she asked for was simply to make sure that there was no mistake. The cashier answered with:? I?ve already explained two times, and I do not want to do this anymore.? Then he walked away and left us alone.

Do we deserve this harsh question like that or do we deserve an apology? Your opinions are appreciated!

Very uncourteous of him. You should talk to his manager. They usually don't stand for stuff like that when it comes to customer satisfaction.

That really depends on the whole story.
Generally, the clerk should have been polite and professional the whole time.
OTOH, I've had customers not "get it" after explaining something to them more than once and eventually couldn't waste any more time on them. So seeing as we weren't there, it's hard to say whether you and your wife "deserved" it.

I had one guy actually argue with me about the sales tax on a half-dozen bagels. I explained to him a couple times that he was BUYING 3 bagels and had a coupon for 3 free bagels. He wasn't buying 6 bagels, so he wasn't buying in bulk, so he had to pay the sales tax on the 3 bagels (9 ffreaking cents!).
He kept saying how he shouldn't have to pay the tax and eventually I just had to be like "Buy them or get out. I don't make the laws, I just follow them. You can take your 3 free bagels, or you can take 6 and pay 9 cents tax, or you can leave. Pick one, and do it quickly; there are other, law-abiding customers waiting."

I used to work at Eckerds, and I have to apologize for this cashier's behavior and hope that you don't think all eckerd employees are like that.

Definitely go talk to the manager, from what I remember if there is a customer complaint about a certain associate, the manager can deal with the individual and there is some sort of punishment/strike/demerit system in place.

He may have been having a bad day, and working for near minimum wage probably didn't help any, but he should not have been rude or impatient at all.

Have to say I had no customer complaints and two written compliments in the year I worked there :D

You don't really have to apologize, but since you used to work there, can you please take a look at this receipt? item 915342 and 698658 were selling at 90% discount as posted at site, but the receipt reads more likely they were charged at 88% and 80% discount respectively.

Thanks again.

well, I agree it was really a small purchase, but does it make any difference when you feel you were hurt some way?

Thanks for the input though,
