I like to buck the tend of only complaining about experiences, I think it's also important to note when someone does something right.
I've been looking to add a line to my Verizon plan for my mom since she really didn't need to be paying what she was. I also wanted a new phone and figured I would just use whatever phone I activate and then rotate the phones. I knew it wasn't super easy but I knew it could be done.
I'd been looking at either the Galaxy Note 2 or Galaxy S4 and waiting for the right deal. Even my friends that work at Verizon were no help. Then Radio Shack put them on sale online for 150 and 130 respectively. That's a good price so I go into the nearest store. If course their prices were not what was online but the clerk said she would price match without any fight. Ok that's good. The activation went smooth but then it was time to flip the phones around. I have her an hour while I wandered the mall.
She had called Verizon to get it done thinking that was the best way. Whoever she talked to there had completely screwed up. None of the phones had the right number assigned. I let her do her thing and she called them back. That person told her we needed all new sim cards! Of course that was wrong and I started getting a bit mad. The manager saw this and stepped in. She called Verizon herself and got things squared away. She handled their incompetence very well and apologized a ton. She even offered me a free accessory for my trouble. I thanked her and left.
This could have gone very bad. Verizon messed up big time and was about to make an even bigger mess. The folks at the store kept calm and handled it without getting the least bit upset.
I even went back and bought a bluetooth headset today (need it for work) from them even though I only ever buy accessories online.
Kudos ladies!
