Had a Sleep Study last night

Did the sleep study. Within the first hour, I stopped breathing 60 times. at leastr 1 per minute.

Tech says shehas no idea how I function during the day. Plus she noted that my brain never went into REM sleep, but instead is staye djust as active as if I were fully awake.

So after the first hour, I was placed on a CPAP machine to help me breathe. The sleep aid I took had me seeing double on the drive home. I have no idea how I made it home, plus i see where I hit the garage door when I pulled in, but no major damage.

I'm glad you've taken the first step. Are you going to get a CPAP?

Looks like possible sinus surgery, as well as the surgery to ope up your throat. and Either a CPAP or a BPAP machine.

Same here, lost my friend and neighbor across the street to sleep apnea.

His wife was asleep next to him. He left a young child behind, he was only 32.

That's scary. I'm 33 and have been suffering for 10+ years. Finally my doctor told me last year, either you'll get with the program or you will die. Simple choice.

I use a autopap, or at least i'm meant to, i have severe sleep apnea, when i had my first sleep study, it worked out that i would stop breathing at least twice every minute. It was one of the worst cases they had seen.

I actually sleep on my front though, and when i do it's not a problem for me, but kinda scary knowing that i have it so bad.

Well, I am hoping to figure out the whole thing here soon.

I went to get it done becausemy wife has noticed that I have quit breathing many times during the night, as well as i snore like a freight train.

Give CPAP/BiPAP a chance. I was a skeptic at first but after only few days it made HUGE difference. Surgery is always an option, but should be kept as an option only.

What do you die from? Asphyxiation?
Your body wakes you up eventually after it's starved of oxygen.

Though I hear the long term affects are heart disease.

what exactly kills you? you just stop breathing? or does constant stress on your heart cause it to fail after years of not treating it?
