Had a 'run-in' with a nice cop this morning

Was on my way to work - around 8am.. was at a light waiting for it to turn green - there was one of those new acura TL's beside me.. the guy was rolling back and forth using his clutch (shifting in and out of neutral?)... revving his engine - it kind of sounded like it had an intake or something. The guy was older (35+ish) anyhow, the light turns green and I go - not racing, then this guy stomps it - so then I take off - am probably going 70+ in less than 3 seconds. As I'm slowing down (maybe ~ 55-60) I see a cop ahead in the opposing lane waiting to turn left. FSCK!! I slow down as quickly as possible - pass him (doesn't -look- like he's radaring) and look behind me to see if he pulls a u-turn... he does, then double-fsck as the light ahead of me turns yellow. He stops beside me and kind of laughs - and said "there's not much traffic so I'm not going to give you a hard time - I saw what happened - but you do something like that when there's traffic and you'll get reckless driving"

Wow, lucked out to be sure. I've gotten a warning a few times on my bike, but they were mostly for going ~5-10mph over the limit when the officer "knew" I would've been going faster if I'd had the chance. Guess ya can't blame people for generalizing, though, considering the number of douchebags popping wheelies on the highway at 100mph.

As far as the rolling back and forth at the stop light, he was probably just using his clutch to do so rather than shifting in and out of neutral. It gets to be very annoying to watch after a while.
