It's a bloody monster. Totally blew me away. I ride a Honda CBR900RR and it's not a slow bike by any means:) Still, it stands no chance against the Suzuki Hayabusa. So much torque it's unbelievable. If only I had the money:(

Want to see a Hayabysa go 300km/h from the rider view ---> linky (it's not me riding, I'm not too comfortable with going over 200km/h with a bike I'm not used to).

They are truly the silliest (in a good way) production bike around. :D

Personally, I'd go with something like an R1 since it's nearly as much HP without being such a heavy bike with a long wheelbase. JMO.

This kind of crap makes me sick. First you guys can't even figure out the ratio between a mile and a kilometre, but not only that, you have to insinuate the supposed superiority of the "american" system. If you like it, that's fine... but saying crap like that is just idiotic. Yeah, it's so superior, which is why the rest of the world uses it too, right? :disgust:

Anyhow.. I've seen a similar video before. It's sick indeed. He rockets all the way up past 200 clicks in no time at all. Say, where's HayabusaRider? Has he went that fast on his? :D

lol first the "american" system is british.... also it is inferior in every way(you canot refute this) to the metric system. The imperial system you guys use is almost useless for scientific purposes because it introduces an aditional risk of error. Not to mention the entire rest of the world uses metric.... excuse me but world-USA>USA

lol. Ok, I was just using his words against him (about the "american" system is british" - he referred to it as american, so I did as well).

I don't know about that video...

I would think he would be passing other traffic and the road signs much faster than he was... modified speedo maybe?

No I don't think so. When's he's going ~200 - ~240 it does look like he's passing the cars in the right lane at around highway speeds.

I'm not doubting the validity of the video, or the performance capability of the Hayabusa. But really, it just doesn't look that fast. It's awesome seeing the speedo climb, but the scenery doesn't seem to go by fast enough.

Actually his speedo shows him/her hitting 310km/h. The driver is probably doing 3x the speeds of other vehicles on the road. How would it look if you were to pass a stopped car at 120mph?

It is legit. I have another Busa video on my computer (can't share, i'm on a modem) of just a straight out helmet camera... from 0 - Topped out... Maxes out the RPM's in the final gear.. .only after he pulls a catwalk from 50mph to 120+mph, then keeps accelerating.. when he goes full speed for 5-10 seconds or so, it doesn't seem like he's going that fast.. but by the jesus, he is.

Somebody call me?

BTW, 300 KPH = 186 mph. Newer bikes are neutered to this.

I have been as fast as 197 mph.

Oh, Fausto, I have ridden with R1's and Gixxers. They certainly can out corner me, however the Busa is much faster.

It may feel faster by the seat of your pants because of the torque, but the new Gixxer 1000 is faster through the 1/4 mile. Power to weight ratio.. The R1 is no slouch either.. I've owned a Blade (CBR900RR), ZX11 and now a R1. The R1 is definitely the fastest of the 3, but the ZX11 had the most torque and torque makes the bike feel faster, especially when you're not revving the bike.

It was sad that they clipped the wings on the Hyabusa and ZX12 when they were both trying to be the first bike to hit the 200 mph barrier for a production street bike. Actually, I'm not that sad that they killed the top speed because I don't spend that much time above 120 mph anyway on the street. You shouldn't either if you want to stay alive and keep your license. I do like that they continue to make the bikes faster to 186 mph.. :)

I have been as fast as 197 mph.
Speedo indicated or actual? There's about 15 mph difference at those speeds due to speedo error.

A word about KM/H vs MP/H. I don't have any problem with the metric system. I've been learning both for most of my life now. The problem is that the US keeps holding onto MPH. If they'd switch over or at least start posting the speed limit in both, there would be no problem with me or most anyone switching over. It's just a pain to have to convert it in your head all the time when the signs are marked in mph.
