So it's your standard Zombie Apocalypse scenario.
I remember Rule #1: Cardio

I also have the Zombie Survival Guide as my Bible.

I'm killing Zombies left and right. They're slow and i'm easily keeping out of their arms reach.

Then i enter a new region where I see Zombies in various states of cocooning/chrysalis. Much like when a caterpillar turns into a butterfly.

But instead of a little harmless insect, this comes out:

No longer slow, and being an easy target. This things are fast, maneuverable, and able to fly.

I start firing while running for cover. After a while, I'm out of ammo for My assault rifle. i'm down to using my sidearm.

A little while later, I'm on my last clip. Then it happens. The FEAR that comes over you when that last round exits the gun and you're staring at an empty armament. The crits are all around you slowly creeping towards you...

Then i woke up in a cold sweat

This is why... when you're down to the last clip.. COUNT the number of shots fired... when you get to 5 .. use one of your last bullets on yourself.

:(

Guyver's rule of Survial #1. The last target taken out should be yourself.

My nightmare survival tactic worked quite a long time for me: Being able to rationalize it's a dream/nightmare and not reality, and then deciding that if it's not real you can bend the rules too. At that point I become airborne and can avoid nasties.

Unfortunately after finding that out and not getting real nightmares in many years it suddenly turned to realistic nightmares involving friends and family. With those it's extremely hard to figure out it's a nightmare, and thus also harder to break out of.

Am I the only one who likes nightmares? Last night I had one where I was being hunted by some guy. In the end I managed to get a hold of an AR-15 and blow him away.

When I used to play counterstrike I would always dream I was in the game. I like action packed, exciting dreams.

ahh classic mistake, you gave them enough experience to level up. Next time kill as few as you can and find the queen, good luck in your hunt.
