Had a cyst removed yesterday (no worries, no pics)

Jesus, it was about the size of a golf ball right in my neck. Didn't look that big, but I guess the same rule applies to cysts as it does to Ice Berg's. Had it for about 8 years and finally decided to have it gone. It hurts like a bitch now and I didn't sleep well last night due to the pain.

Surgery was only like 15-20 minutes and felt goddam awful when he began squeezing it out. Then he had to dig the rest of the sac out.

His name was Abe and he will be missed.

Pain sucks....hopefully it will be better by tomorrow.

Thank you for your time.

What the deal with no pics?

You should have had the nurse video the removal, and then post the video on youtube.

At the very least did the cyst have little eyes, arms and teeth? Was it screaming for mercy as it was being cut loose?

I was also informed yesterday that OHIP (Ontario's health coverage) won't cover it....but I will contest it.

Damn it hurts to chew, yawn, swallow food, turn head...

As for recording it....I thought about asking the intern who was watching the surgeon to record it with my phone.

Sebaceous cyst? I had a little one on my neck once. Got it cut out, no problem.

Maybe it was that...this one was festering for 8 years or so. Just never got around to having it removed. I am glad it is gone now...now I don't have cancer lurking in the back of my mind.

Mine was not infected and it was also not "liquidy". I was infected when I first got it but that cleared up then I went on with my life.

Mine was like solid lump of fat, or something. I suppose I could have done amateur surgery, but it would have been fairly advanced for an amateur.

Then he had to dig the rest of the sac out.

Oh god...... I've had a couple of cysts show up in my nether regions (inside thigh, another on the pube region both of those ruptured on their own), another of them turned out to actually be an irritated hemorrhoid (according to the ER folks it was only blood and no puss and was in an inflamed vein), and another was a puss filled sack in the same region (had to go to proctologist for that and he drained like a wine glass of puss out of there and also "dug out the sac") Probably the most painful thing besides a car accident I've done. When either of those flared up it became completely impossible to move. My point is that I feel your pain.

Jeez dude. The OP's got nothing on you.

Wow, I have a little cyst on one of my toes. It's always annoyed me to see it down there. After watching that youtube video, I'm thinking, "yeah, I could probably remove that. It'd save me the $10 copay, unless my insurance company thought it was a cosmetic procedure - then it'd save me even more. If I screw up, then my insurance will surely cover fixing up my goof."
