On the bright side, when you are elderly, teeth can become a liability. Best to get rid of them before then.

Yeah. Go back and the dentist should rinse it out.
Ask him to prescribe vicodin.

i went back at 10. The doctor said it was dry socket they rinsed it out (oh boy that actually hurt). then they put in a brown nasty stuff that stunk and tasted terrible. but oh boy did it help.

i passed out on the ride home and just woke up. i don't remember getting from the car to my bed! no i did not drive heh.

use clove oil for dry socket, it will take a LOT of the pain, but the healing process will be slower.
