FYI ICH10 is natively supported in 10.5.7 - we can ditch the AHCI kexts for our UD3P's! :D You can keep PIIX for IDE mode (useful if you're dual-booting and not using an AHCI driver on Windows), but this will even further reduce our kext footprint on our Hackintoshes, whoo!

Mini-ITX ION board:

http://www.engadget.com/2009/0...-mini-itx-motherboard/

Someone mentioned pricing at around $300. Hmm...$300 board, $20 RAM, $50 case, $25 DVD drive, shipping...only $200 less than a Mac Mini. So far, they've said that the Atom 230 can't handle Youtube HD or Hulu, so I'm beginning to have my doubts about the Atom 330. If the 330 can swing Hulu & Youtube HD, then $400 isn't so bad, I guess, but you might as well build a mATX system with a nice case for that price, you know?

Sigh, economics...

Horray!!! (Doesn't know what this means but is happy for streamlined things)

I'm tickled to death about the G200 support coming, too.

+ Nvidia 200-series support
+ ATI 4000-series support
+ Core i7 support (Vanilla Kernel)
+ ICH10 support (fewer kexts, more vanilla system)
+ 10.5.7 looks like a straightforward upgrade so far (easy update)
+ Snow Kitty is looking Hackintoshable still

Does anyone have any suggestions on a graphics card to use for my HTPC, im using the P35-DS3L board and looking over Kaido's approved cards but it seems like alot of them are now difficult to get ahold of. The HTPC will be connected directly to my tv through HDMI/DVI, I would like a card that has a TV output setting so The TV will be recognized as a TV (1920x1080), if it's passively cooled that's even better !

You'll need something like SwitchResX or DisplayConfigX to get custom resolutions - Leopard doesn't like TV output natively. I'm currently looking at cheap mATX systems for a secondary HTPC build myself, so maybe my May thread will be about that :)

Native Desktop = ICH7, ICH10 (as of 10.5.7), MCP79
Native Laptop = ICH7m, ICH8m

My DS3L kit has drivers for ICH9 and my UD3P kit has drivers for ICH10R (a la ICH10). When 10.5.7 comes out, we can ditch the ICH10 drivers on the UD3P (and the PIIX, unless you want/need IDE mode), but we still need drivers for the ICH9 since it's not supported natively. No big deal, works fine :)

Here's the Wiki with the video card list:

http://leopardsoup.pbwiki.com/videocards

NO WHINING THAT THE WIKI ISN'T DONE! I haven't uploaded the final guides for the entire site yet, so I don't want to hear any complaints until I create a new thread

Ah I would contribute, but I don't want so sign up for one entry. So you could add:
Powercolor ATI Radeon HD 4850 with netkas 10.5.7 beta drivers with CI/QE and native resolution but no wake from system sleep. Fix for shaking screen: from netkas.org. For DVI Output: Attach DVI-VGA Adapter to the ports farthest away from the Mobo

The requirements for this video card reminds me of some poker games I've played where deuces and one-eyed jacks are wild, except every other odd Tuesday!

Got my system working... will post specs in a bit. Tried to comment on the wiki without luck:

Videocards:
Card: SPARKLE SX95GT1024D2-3D 9500GT
Driver: EFI String (8600GT 1GB)
Details: Apparently the 8600GT, 9500GT and 120 are all the same card pretty much. I am not sure if the DisplayPort on the Sparkle is working, but otherwise it all seems to be working.

You can add the 9500GT to the EFI Strings using Uinstaller by going to the custom feature. All it is, is the name - just points to the existing libraries for support ;)

Be sure to post back if you ever have a chance to test the DisplayPort! :D

So the Zotac 7300 GT has Wiki approval, and should play 1080P, it "should" work correct ? Video Card

I'm surprised that TV output isn't good, When i connect my iMac to my tv it's recognized as a compatible display, and theres no overscan/underscan issues ?

I guess this isn't the case with the hackintosh ?

Yup, that's the 7300GT! Works great :)

I can't talk much other than to mention issues others have had - I have a 720p projector, so it Plex runs just fine @ 1280x800.

Links? Links!?

Edit: And why would a 260 work but not a 280?

Don't know, heard from a friend that the GTX260 works. I have a friend locally with a system 1:1 as my UD3P, except that he has a GTX260, so when 10.5.7 drops I'll give it a roll on his rig :)

I'm more interested on what makes you think 10.5.7 is shipping with GT200 drivers. Because the developer seeds have not. I'm expecting that Apple will ship a graphics update in May that adds them.

When booting, after the grey apple screen, the display goes dark, the mouse cursor appears eventually and if i move the mouse it will go to the login screen. This is new behavior and I am not sure if it is related to me doing the Time Machine fix with UInstaller....

Friend of a dev is running GTX260 on 10.5.7, that's all I know :) Again my local buddy has a GTX260, and assuming it does in fact come with drivers for the 200's, I'll hop on over and test it for ya!

For those of you with that bug where your computer wouldn't wake from Display Sleep, I think the answer lies in VoodooPower - I think it causes Kernel Panics occassionally, and if it wouldn't wake from sleep intermittently, then your computer had KP'd and thus couldn't be "woken up". So the new kit will fix that with OpenHaltRestart (going on Day 4 and it's still rock-solid!).

The only thing that's bugging me still is UUID with third-party network adapters. It gives me an intermittent UUID bug. SuperDuper/forced Time Machine backups are OK, but intermittently it gets an error backing up. I know what's causing it (UUID error), but I'm not sure how to fix it yet since we're already using the Time Machine, and it's working for the most part. The good news is, I believe this is the sole remaining bug in my kits for 10.5.6 :)

Are either of these required? Does your current package install either? Is this OpenHaltRestart mandatory?

I'm not worried about my own systems, since I don't have any crashes on any of them, but I'd like to know for the sake of other people's systems I've set up for them recently using your latest guide.

VoodooPower is something that's added separately, not with anything in your kits? I would hate to find out anyone I've set up a system for recently is experiencing Kernel Panics- though I haven't heard anything.
