Last one I played was Dungeon Siege. Is there anything relatively new, or do I have to go back to Dungeon Siege II or NWN 2?

Titan Quest + Immortal Throne Xpac. Immortal Throne is pretty much a must, it adds a lot of content to the game as a whole.

Diablo 2 ... classic.

Dungeon Siege 2... good fun, I enjoyed playing it.

Im sure people can recommend you another good game too.

Single Player Hellgate:London is fun for awhile ... i got well over 100[+] hours of grinding to get through it almost completely - twice on Nightmare!
:Q

That is [nearly] 3 times completely thru the game with the same Char ; i played with several since the beta]

yes, i remember you from several Hg:L threads .. you didn't like it very much :p

Otoh, i LOVED the fighting [period]

MP was garbage ... i wouldn't pay for any of the crap they add on to the subscribers
-imo, they really didn't think MP out very well [and needed at least another dozen different types of cells - there are like so few that repeat over and over .. and hell isn't freezing over :p
[i had to cut a deal with the Boss, eventually :Q]

SP is fun but ultimately monotonous - and since you can't level past Level 50 and your enemies can got on to at least 70 - it becomes *impossible* on nightmare - or at least beyond tedious.

Mythos FTMFW

Well, that isn't possible until the open beta starts, but that should be within the next month or so. Keep checking Mythos.com. I recommend everyone who liked Diablo 2 to watch that site for the open beta to begin.

It is online, not a true MMO, more like Guild Wars and Diablo 2 with in-game lobbies, but you can do just about everything solo if you want. It has been in closed beta for at least 6 months now. There is not a whole lot of content but they are adding content, fixing bugs, rebalancing, everything very quickly and it is quite polished. Pretty amazing actually given the size of the team (part of Flagship Studios). The devs are very active in the forums and listen and reply directly to individuals with bugs, suggestions, etc.

So there is my Mythos plug. It is pretty repetitive, but games of this type usually are. Again, open beta should be here soon.

Otherwise, I would also recommend Titan Quest.

I was thinking about it. It is a tad old though. Sort of strange this genre has sort of died out the past couple of years.

Devs think we want 3d environments and stuff. Look at sacred II: Fallen Angel for example. I don't know, hack&slash is probably not where the big money is ... Or everyone that wants to make one decides to make a mmo instead ?

Dungeon Siege 2 is pretty good but not as much fun as the first. It looks better though, so if graphics are your primary concern you may wanna check it out.

Titan Quest and its expansion are probably the most fun you can have right now. It takes all the best elements from most Diablo clones and meshes them together in a near perfect package.
I suggest you get it soon because the company that made it went out of business. Unlikely they will be printing any more copies.

Titan Quest & Immortan Throne, definitely. And yes, it is a bit repetitive--it's a hack & slash. But the changes in difficulty (-> epic -> legendary) change the game play enough to keep it interesting.

I love TQ. It has TONS of items, tons of possibilities, and you can always go back to normal mode to throw some baddies around. It's wonderful.

Another vote for TQ+IT as a fun hack n' slash RPG. Game has a great storyline and production value, although it loses much of that after the first few playthroughs. There's only a *few* twists that differentiate gameplay through different difficulties. Still, tons of fun although I only played 2 chars through legendary. It got a little too repetitive for me after that.

Also in terms of farming I found the game lacked a key feature, power leech, similar to HP leech to keep it fun imo. I forgot exactly what the problem was with their power leech, I believe it relied on mobs surviving more than 1 hit or something. In any case was hoping a patch resolved that or added new items/stats but that obviously won't be happening now. :(

Titan Quest was a lot of fun. And, there are enough combinations of classes that it's one of the few games I've started to play all over again. Considering it can be found pretty cheap these days, I'd pick that up.

Plus, the Dream mastery is sweet. Dream + Defense = Sooooooooooooo fun :)
