HA! Linux Journal is down because it got slashdotted,

so? Lot's of sites go down when they're slashdotted. It doesn't matter if they're running Windows or Linux on the backend. It's because they don't have the servers and/or bandwidth to handle the load. This site slowed to a crawl the other day when the main Anandtech site got slashdotted. It didn't go down probably because they need the servers and bandwidth on a regular basis since this site is so popular.

Your feeble attempts at Linux bashing has failed. Noob.

I think the whole point is that it is "Linux Journal" and it doesn't even know what "slashdotting" is. They are not being "attacked" (DoS or otherwise), they are being "slashdotted". Heck, if my site went down and had slashdotesque material on it, first thing I'd do is check the /. front page....

It's the
Linux Journal Is Currently Unavailable Due to a Denial of Service (DoS) Attack
Sorry for any inconvenience.
message that makes it funny, not anything to do with linux bashing....

Being slashdotted floods the server, resulting in a denial of service condition. A DoS is not necessarily malicious or intentional.
