Check out the Mac zealot over at DPreview's Canon forum:

<< Why doesn't anyone ever mention that all of the 3rd party conversion software is available for PC only? I abosolutely do not believe that the majority of D30 and D60 users on this forum use inferior, barely useable PC garbage hardware. Maybe I'm wrong and should be reading elsewhere. I'm sure I'll be accused of starting a "my stuff is better than your stuff" type arguement. I'm not. For those of us that use Mac hardware, it is very frustrating to be so limited for the CRWs. As for the arguement, there is no rational arguement for PC garbage. I t is simply yet another example of capitalist consumerism gone mad and the economic giants like Microsoft just want it this way. Congratuations on turning your creative lives over to billionares. You stink, and so does Bill Gates. Remember betamax? Far superior. Lost out to inferior but much more profitable VHS. But don't ever expect anyone to take you the leasst bit seriously as artists if you use PC. Junk! I've never seen one go more than five minutes without crashing, but have fun searching the web.

Regards,

He's obviously never heard of Windows NT (and 2K and XP). And he's obviously quite obsessed with Macs.

wow, that is some non-argument. The funny thing is, that I too have been accused of being a Mac zealot. But my arguments looked nothing like his.

BTW: I don't even own a Mac

I have nothing against Apple (used to own an iMac, and might buy a PowerMac someday), but the zealousness that Mac afficionados often display is rather disturbing at times.

Funny, because to me it seems just the other way around :D

True, and have fun with the extra long page renders in osX.

Funny...my 35 day record uptime (cut short due to power outage) says otherwise...yet the macs we have at school (for art) crash on an hourly basis...

It's just that type of thing that makes me sad... Mac users have been brainwashed so deeply that they don't even realize that PCs and Macs SHARE HARDWARE! It's all made by the same darn manufacturer! So I guess everybody is using garbage hardware..... I hope he opens up his MAC and sees the Western Digital Hard Drive and the Pioneer DVD burner.

man..... brainwashed mac user.....

Echo what Tom said. Beta was and still is better than VHS. Look at the mobile cameras news teams carry......they are all BETA.

I use a Mac every day for image editing and making documents (catalogs, etc.). I even own a G4 to use at the house if I need to (my company bought it for me). I will say that for image editing the Mac is easy to use (of course that is what I learned on). Adobe software is made for the Mac then ported over to the PC. My Macs crash all the time (OS9.2). I run 2K pro and Server and very seldom have problems. I am learning Linux and haven't had many crashes thus far.

Each machine has a purpose. One is better than the other in some instances. I prefer my PC because of the level of hardware and software customization I am able to achieve.
