Got the tires up to correct inflation and the battery installed.

Took it to work today, and came back along the highway. Found a nice car free stretch about a mile before my exit, and twisted the throttle 😀

Ahh, it's good to be king 😛

I got the rpm's up to about 9k or so and went from 75 to 150 in the last half mile or so before the ramp. For all I could do, I ride fairly conservatively most of the time. Just had to clean the carbon out though 😀

175.00 HP (127.7 kW)) @ 9800 RPM
140.00 Nm (14.3 kgf-m or 103.3 ft.lbs) @ 7000 RPM

More horsepower & torque than my Subaru. That is absolutely terrifying.

And fvcking awesome.

News to me as well 😕

The power caused a problem though Viper. The original cam chain tensioner wasn't beefy enough to handle it, and could break. That would be very very bad. I can't remember precisely what it was, but there was a second recall for a relatively weak part too. That's all be long worked out.

The Busa engine was intended to go through three iterations. We have mine (and all others to date) as the first. The second was rumored to put out about 20 more HP, and the third come in about 240 hp or so. I understand the goal was a motorcycle that could hit the 220 mph indicated on the 1999 speedo.

Unfortunatly, the EU decided that motorcycles would be speed limited as of 2000. Nothing could be legally sold that could exceed 186 mph (300 kph).

MC makers didn't want two models, one for the EU, and one for everywhere else, so they put speed limiters on bikes that might break that limit. This being the case, the more powerful motors became irrelevant.

Ahh, what might have been.
