on my h70 my idle temps go to 50-55c load temps on prime almost hit 90-95c.
i m using it on i7 870 i have reapplied thermal paste almost 6 times changed mounting on diffrent locations also tried with open case dual fans are spinng at 2k rpm ambient temps are between 20-28c. at last tried with another 870. i thought my perticular piece is must be having internal issues so got it replaced. but above condition is also same with new h70. its not overclocked and i m running it with default bios setting.

i dont understand what to do my old cm 212+ is giving temps of 52-58 on full load

Doens't make sense to me. Possible defective unit? You can hear the pump working?

This. There were some defective H70 and H100 units that had bad pumps and required RMAs. It's either that or bad contact to the cpu.

I concur. The pump is either not functioning or the contact with the CPU is poor.

^^^ What they said. I just replaced my H70 in favor of a custom loop that included a GPU block. Anyway.. the H70 idle temps on my i5-2500k were in the 30's and full load at 4.6Ghz saw temps in the 60~70c range.
