I'm using a Gigabyte H67A-UD3H motherboard with an i5-2500 processor on a new non-gaming PC. I'm currently using integrated graphics.
When I try to run Windows Movie Maker, I get this error:
"Windows Movie Maker cannot start because your video card does not support the required level of hardware acceleration or hardware acceleration is not available".
Everything I read about the Sandy Bridge processors says that they support hardware acceleration by default.
I previously ran Movie Maker on a Core 2 Duo without issues.
I get a similar error when trying to run Passmark 3-D benchmarks. It says "nothing will be rendered....your computer only has a reduced-functionality reference device installed....."
I assume I am a doofus about something. My monitor is connected via the DVI port and I am wondering if hardware acceleration is only available through the VGA port? The Gigabyte manual is useless on the topic.
I don't see anything relevant in the BIOS.
Any ideas? As a non-gamer, I don't follow graphics closely.
