H264 transmission over GbE net.

Im using a Single Board Computer (SBC) with a 4th Generation Intel® Core™ i7 Haswell Processor (Integrated HD Graphics 4600 ) for the H264 compression. Also I'm willing to use the wired GbE communication, in order to transmit the compressed data to a desktop PC (60FPS rate).

My question is. What is the recommended protocol for the H264 data transmission? Can I use a standard protocol, so it can be viewed directly through a VLC viewer? (i.e. No storage in the middle).

BTW, the video source is a Colored Bayer CCD Camera received as a GigE vision passed to a De-Bayer process and as I said compressed (H264) by using the Integrated HD Graphics 4600.
Thanks in advanced.
