Question H150i not so great results

I feel like I'm not getting my money's worth. I have a 9900k and getting not so great 97C in RealBench at 1.285V @ 5GZ following this guide https://www.gigabyte.com/FileUpload/...le/525/946.pdf. Idle hovers at around 41C. One of the fans rpm is at 1430 all the time. What do you guys normally get?

Well, you did buy a AIO that is designed/marketed more for silence than absolute performance. Consumers really have to research things like this before buying new toys. Lastly the 9900k is already a hot CPU at stock..........

Corsair’s done well to optimize its cooler for acoustic performance and, in that category, is among the best performers on our noise-normalized charts. Flat-out performance isn’t chart-topping nor particularly impressive, but again, their marketing focus was silence, so we’ll give credit for sticking to the marketing. Flat-out performance could be improved with higher speed fans, naturally.

The pc build company I bought it from was only offering a select very few, so I went with the h150. It was the priciest option they had at the time and there was nothing better really.

I don't look at you being "stuck".

The 9900k is a very fast CPU, and pushing it further by overclocking doesn't really gain you that much, compared to the increase of heat and power used.

I would personally just leave it at stock, and be happy. Otherwise, if you're a person who can't do that, you will likely need to remove the AIO and buy a unit that is designed for absolute performance (with silence be damned). You can always replace the fans with some high RPM monsters (like the Noctua Industrial lineup), but they will also put out some serious noise.

There are users out there who aren't satisfied with their system unless they overclock it, but I am not one of those type of users. Gaining an extra 100-300 MHz doesn't really doesn't make much of difference IMO.

Tip:
The fan and pump control is sort of weird in the Corsair software.
You need to select the fan or pump, then you need to select a speed
Continue to next fan or whatever and repeat.

The default speed is silent which doesn’t cool so well.
It is really easy to think you changed the speed but you actually didn’t. Hard to explain but fiddle around in the Corsair software. Icue thingy.

It was the ICUE software not doing what I was asking it to do. I'm able to get it to 90C now when testing with most stress tests at 5.0 GHZ (including dreadful RealBench). It's an OK performer but there are better options for the price for sure. Thanks for your help.

Appears 90c is the Intel normal now

Did you think the 14nm++++++++ CPU was going to be cooler? Intel is running HOT, HOT, HOT.

the icue software is odd to use, hard to explain. I really like it’s layout and how multiple Corsair products can be updated and managed from one hub. I don’t like how there is zero explanation for anything. Screwing up fan & pump profiles appears to be common. I screwed mine up, another poster screwed his up.

You are correct once you get use to the layout its fine but on first setup most don't set the speed properly.

I replaced it with a Thermaltake Riing Floe 360mm. Not noticing much of a difference for some reason (could be wrong). I'm delidding in about a week.

I have a Corsair 570x and the glass is off right now on all sides so it's a tad bit audible at 1600 rpm, at 500 rpm you can barely hear it. I will have to see when it's closed up.
