I just filed my return online through H&R Block, and discovered they charged me for filing my Kentucky state return even though the site told me I wasn't able to file online since I'm a nonresident.

Here are a few selections from our chat:

J. Chavez: an you clarify your question.

--------------------------

J. Chavez: When reviewing it. It states in progress.

--------------------------

J. Chavez: OUr records indicate your kentucky return is in progress. once it has been rejected at that time you will receive a refund.

---------------------------

Brion Bastian: so why did the site tell me I can't file it, then proceed to file it along with my Ohio return when I didn't tell it to?
J. Chavez: unfortunately I'm able to answer that question.
Brion Bastian: English should be part of H&R Blocks' training
Brion Bastian: I want to speak with your supervisor, someone who can type English
J. Chavez: Thank u for holding I went ahead and frefunded the 24.95 for the kentucky state.
Brion Bastian: Thank you
J. Chavez: Is there anything else we can assist you with today?
Brion Bastian: nope
J. Chavez: Thank you for contacting TaxCut Online Support, Brion, and we look forward to serving you in the future!

The part in bold was what killed me. I was literally LOLing at work.

It's funny, he couldn't help me until I asked to chat with a supervisor. Keep that in mind if you have to get something done through chat this tax season.

Oh, and if you talk to J, Chavez, just end the session and reconnect later. You probably won't get anywhere with him. Unless you ask to talk with his supervisor of course.
