H & R Block E-filing Question

I e-filed my taxes this year through H & R block about a week ago. After completing the filing process, H&R confirmed that the IRS had accepted the return. I had set it up to wire the funds directly to my checking account. A few days later, I get a status update that requires I print out such and such signature form and mail it to the IRS. (I guess electronic signature wasn't good enough?) Anyhow, the thing didn't give me a stinking mailing address, just the form to be printed out. Anybody else have this happen?

Yeah WA, thanks. I wonder why they don't just give it to you? This is for the federal return also, we don't pay state income tax.

If you used a PIN based on prior year's AGI to file the federal you shouldn't have to mail an 8453-OL.

Are you sure it's not a state 8453 it's spitting out? Maybe you chose signature document instead of PIN?

I used a pin the year before, yeah. Sure it's not a state too. Oh well, I'll mail it in. Thanks guys!

I used taxcut. If you give last year's adjusted gross income then that serves as your signature. Otherwise you need the forms, and I agree it takes the sweetness out of efiling doesn't it? I'm going to be paper filing alabama since I owe them money. They sure as sh*t ain't getting me to pay $10 to Efile so that I can pay them faster!

Doesn't matter if you used a PIN for prior year. You have to select again, PIN or signature document.

Wanna know a secret? It doesn't matter if you mail the 8453-OL.

It doesn't delay processing. Six months later the IRS will send you an 8453-OL, and then you'd need to fill it out.

I mentioned that above, we just pay federal. Is this form just for state?
Nope - they wanted one for my federal unless I chose digital signature.

I did choose that and everything submitted and was cherry but they pulled this a few days later. WTF. I suppose there would be no harm in mailing it too.

No matter what federal non pin returns always require an 8453.

State 8453 is different, some states make ya send an 8453, some don't.

The reason the 8453 didn't pop up for a few days is the return must be accepted to get a DCN, and a DCN must go on the 8453/
