For anybody thinking of ordering this in the US beware... not all blu rays are region free. HP actually is but it's always good to check. Plus the whole PAL and NTSC thing comes into play if any of the special features or menus are in SD. There are many reported UK blu rays that don't work in the US because we can't even get to the menu.

Just an FYI for everybody... if you don't do the research on each movie to ensure it works here you could be rolling the dice.

Yeah, HP clearly says it is though so for this deal it is good.

I'm a real sucker for "extended editions" but I can't help wanting to get this in spite of it looking like extra footage is only included for Deathly Hallows. I don't suppose anyone knows or has seen otherwise?

Edit: Also looks like .co.uk has the LOTRO Extended Edition Bluray collection for about $16 cheaper as well, maybe $11 cheaper with shipping?

I'm pretty sure the PAL/NTSC issue only applies to regular DVD's, Blu-Ray is more an International HD standard (I believe) - though there are Region restrictions.

I recently bought some PAL DVD's and a Region Free PAL>NTSC Blu-Ray/DVD player, so I'm pretty sure this is the case.

Took about three weeks for the DVD order to arrive, just FYI.

That's true for the actual movie, but the extra content and menus can still be SD and susceptible to the PAL/NTSC issue. It's happened on certain EU blu-rays before, so it's always good to check.
