Whats a H-IPS panel ? Is it like a really high quality IPS panel that is even better than a AS-IPS panel ? I noticed the 24 inch NEC lcd monitors have it. I really wanted a 24" NEC lcd monitor but they were just way to expensive right now. These panels are in the NEC LCD2490WUXi lcd monitor. http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/panelsearch.htm

High aperture-ratio IPS. With a high aperture ratio, you get higher contrast (700:1->750:1 according to a Mitsubishi PDF). Yes, it's probably better than an AS-IPS.

Wow no wonder its so expensive for these type of monitors. I can't believe how expensive they are. They must be mainly for graphic designers.

It puzzles me that S-IPS panels can be 100% price-competitive with *VA panels in large-size LCD TV's (LG, Philips, Panasonic and, I think, Toshiba), but when it comes to smaller computer monitor sizes, suddently S-IPS is twice as expensive as *VA.
