Thanks for pointing that out. I ordered mine from amazon when it was 550.00 and used a gift card. I called them up just now and they were unable to refund the 80.00 difference to my credit card so I just returned the 7970. It was a shame, I really like that card, better and smoother than my 6950's. I guess thats just another sign I should wait for the 680 4gb. Im tired of the AMD drivers anyway. It all comes down to money though, Nvidia pays to have its hardware optimized better for some games, and it gives them the advantage I think, AMD should do the same, that or hire better techs for their driver team.

I am getting from amazon and needed an active mini-DP->DVI (single link) adapter anyway, all for $450 after rebate. If I didn't need the adapter, I would have waited for the "Three for Free" game promo rumored to begin in May and gotten a HD7950, which can be had for $380-400. That's a pretty compelling price/performance advantage: $380 + three free games, and when overclocked can beat a stock GTX680 which currently goes for $500+... unless Nvidia starts dropping prices or bundling free games, it is no longer so clear that the GTX680 is a better value from a consumer perspective.
