I wonder why its not tested at the same settings.

I don't understand why they bother showing the first parts of the benchmarks at different settings. That should be at the end of the article, if anywhere at all.

Very oddly written article, but this shows it all:

15% better average performance from the 7970.

It also seems since the driver release that the 7970 has been holding it's $400 price tag better. I bet these cards are starting to sell better now.

Not to mention the fact that besides the minimums, the 670 beats the 680. What's the point of the 680?

I think its the difference between the playthroughs on the 670 and 680. The 670 would rarely ever dip below 40fps unless you are running through an explosion or have gotten killed.

Wow, I remember the 7970 dipping into the 20's on explosive combat.

They probably had some problem with the 310.33 driver.

By the way, nice boost on 7970.

I wonder why its not tested at the same settings.

Because it's [ H ] and they always test that way at the start of their reviews, and then do apples to apples later on.
They've been doing it long enough that most regulars to this part of the forum should already be aware of it.

Hardocp could have waited at least another day and used the nvidia 310.54 beta drivers....

Funny how nvidia and amd both can come up with these performance drivers so quickly,i am sure the 7970 Ge still is gonna be quicker then a gtx680 still with 310.54 but heck that gpu roundup article is already obsolete thanks them using 310.33.

Article needs to be revised with the updated drivers and benchmarks reran.
