I have Hollywood+ (actually Creatice DXR3 but it's the same thing) DVD decoder card. It installs fine (with both Creative and Sigma drivers) but whenever I insert a DVD it just says "No disc". If I load single .vob files from the DVD they play just fine but it wont start playing the movie from the beginning. Using PowerDVD the moves play just fine.

My setup:
IWill KK266-R with 1.4GHz Athlon
512MB
MSI G3Ti200
LG 8160B DVD-ROM
TDK VeloCD 12/10/32
IBM 60GXP 40GB

I used to have a Hollywood Plus myself, and once had the same problem. Double check one setting in your DXR3 software player - make sure the DXR3 has the right drive selected for the default playback drive. It sounds stupid, but for some reason my Hollywood Plus defaulted to the CDROM drive instead of the DVD drive. Changed it, and everything worked OK.

Even if the above works, I have a recommendation - get rid of the decoder card, unless you need TV out and your video card doesn't support it. Your system is more than up to the task without the DXR3 - my 800 mhz Slot A Thunderbird with a GeForce2 MX 200 has absolutely flawless DVD playback using PowerDVD 4.0 multi-channel playback software.

My system: Shuttle AI61 Slot A motherboard, Athlon Thunderbird 800mhz Slot A CPU, 512mb Infineon RAM, GeForce2 MX 200 (soon to be upgraded), Soundblaster Live 5.1 MP3+, Cambridge Soundworks DTT2200 Desktop Theater speaker system, Hitachi 12X DVD drive, Plextor 12/10/32 CDRW, Maxtor 7200 RPM 40gb hard drive, Maxtor 5400 RPM 20gb hard drive, running Windows XP Home.

I'll check that.

The reason I'd like to use it is because of the TV-out. The G3Ti200 does have a TV-out but it does not support twinview and there are problems with the TV-out chip SAA7102 on that card.
