Well,

It's hard to steal a car if you are without lower apendages. I guess I will have to settle for the lottery.

Bad Joke-I couldn't help it-I appologize to those who are without apendages.

The benchmarks are here. http://www.hardocp.com/article.html?art=NDY0LDI=

Splinter Cell ran MUCH faster with the OC'd 9600! One of my favorite games. If i didin't have a 9700 already I'd be on this. Also seems like the bios isn't locked and all you would need is radclocker!

Poor geforce 5600 fx ultra.

Do you people know if there's any risk in overclocking this card to these speeds? Can't wait to overclock my 9600!

there is always a risk, but chances are you'll just lock up or freeze before any real harm is done to the card. It's probably best to push it to its max then back down a healthy ammount (to where performance is still acceptable if not more so. 500MHz core wouldn't be too shabby despite it being able to hit say 550...

Man I just got a 9600 built by ati yesterday and my first attempt at over clocking it with powerstripe failed horribly defualt its 400 Core 400 Memory. Power strip shows it at Core 399.25 Core 397.25 Memory. Tried 410 by 410 Bam instant artifacts.......rich eh so much for overclocking. Think I'll try one of the overclocking tools mentioned above but P.S. has never let me down before. Mabye slap some artic silver3 on the heatsink and add some ram chips see if that helps wish me luck.

Sounds like a locked Bios to me. Try Under-Clocking it and see if the same thing happens...

Jusus F'ing Christ this card is a god damn beast!!!! Downloaded the new beta of power stripe got it sitting pretty @ 550 Core 345 Mem DAMN!!! This card over clocks like nothing I have ever seen.

Ps My earlier observation was incorrect it was 400 Core 300 Memory...... Got the memory to overclock nearly 100mhz 45mhz ddr = 90mhz and the core up 150mhz...christ thats impressive Ran Battle field 1942 140fps solid. Ran CS with Realism pack High poly Models 99Fps Solid with 16x AA! 4x Smoothvision! Christ almighty is all I have to say this card is well worth the 179$ I paid for it!
