Or use the desktop PC to convert H.264 to something like MP2 or WMV or whatever your device will play.

Actually the new Flash 9/10 for the desktop PC does various kinds of video with similar codecs; I don't know what they have for the Pocket PC if anything; I have a feeling it is very outdated. Anyway it isn't a universal player codec, only for things "in flash".

Flash9+ plays h264/aac mp4's. Search the web, it's bloody brilliant.
