Just got mine hooked up, was getting sick and tired of the ones I bought for my bedroom for some darn reason not working like they should and only being 8 feet away from the receiver, mouse would work when it wanted to, keyboard had to hold in the air to type on it, was flat out pissing me off so I bought this.

It is the bee's Knees, LMTY, works on my bed sheet, my mattress, my belly, my ass, even in the air, and supposedly good for 30'. Comes with a micro size keyboard, like a laptop keyboard to be precise about it, wireless too of course, and for $50 I am more then happy, no more dead spot in the bedroom, and I am about to try this thing out with a game, should be interesting since I dont have to drag and click on the desk, just hold a button in and move my wrist in the air, but very cool, and useful so far none the less, and would pass this on since its anywhere from $50+ off regular price anywhere else.

dont know, the mouse has its own charging cradle, and the keyboard takes 4 aaa batteries which it comes with it all, including the driver disk. For being refurbished, supposedly, its doesnt look it at all, came wrapped up, even the mouse had the plastic pull tab still between the battery and housing, and it by no means smells used, refurb'd in any way as well.

I just played a "breakout" type game, and the control of the paddle with the mouse in the air was pretty darn good. I always used a track ball at my desk, have only used them for over 15 years, and this didnt take any time at all getting used to, its very smooth, and precise as a Wii controller is, without a big bar in front of my monitor, has a gyro built in the unit, and didnt skip a beat durring my game. Going to try a RPG next with it.

Im wishing now that I bought 2 of these, one for the room one for my computer here so I can sit in my Living room which I have this pc hooked to the Projection tv at, and use this unit to control this pc as I sit in there and watch tv or play games, it would work pretty good for sure to use in more areas other then just my bedroom.

I've had this same setup for my HTPC for a while. The battery life on the mouse sucks, a few days at best and that's barely using it. Of course it does come with a charging cradle, but I forget to charge it half the time. The keyboard still has the original batteries in it, so the battery life is good on it.

Only took 61 views for someone to catch that :p

But it really does work off my fat ass, just move it around, get a sensual rubbin, and neffin done all at the same time :)
If only I could hold my other thing in my right hand, jerk my wrist around and work as good as this does

Guess this too will fail as well with age, and sadly no where near do I have a 30' range either.

Upsides: The mouse works fantastic in the air and on a mouse-pad. It's perfect for a HTPC setup.

Downsides: The keyboard kind of sucks. Needs LED's to be a good HTPC keyboard. The range of the keyboard also isn't great. At about 12' I need to make sure the front of the keyboard is completely unblocked for all keystrokes to go through. And forget about typing fast, it won't keep up. And as mentioned earlier, the battery in the mouse is really bad. Probably because the gyro in the mouse runs all the time, even when it's in the charging cradle (you can hear it when you put your ear to the mouse.) So, bottom line, the battery is good enough for a single nights use, but you'll have to remember to ritually put it in the charging cradle when you turn the TV off (I've actually gotten in the habit of putting it in the cradle even when I'm sitting in front of the TV.) Another potential downside on the battery... when it really hits the skids and can't hold a charge any more, the mouse is pretty much done unless you want to track down the proprietary removable battery that comes with it.

One thing I don't care for much is the compact keyboard.
But the combos are mainly for HTPC setups, so I guess it's not a bad trade-off.
