That is some pretty awesome driving.

And it looks like a four door Focus... who know such a car could be so bad ass.

Ken Block is all shades of awesome, but I still say STi > Fiesta.

In some ways yes, some ways no.

For example. Stock STI>>>>>Stock Fiesta.

Theres a thread about this in the garage too btw. Most of us seem to agree Gymkhana 3 is by far the best

I dunno, I am still a Team Subaru guy. And hell, RallyCross (and his Fiesta is a RallyCross-spec car, iirc. NOT permitted in Rally).

But it's also not fair, that damn Fiesta. The STI, and the true Rally-grade STIs, are modded to hell and back, but still are an STI.

That Fiesta? That's not a fucking Fiesta, it merely shares the basic body, and really is just a revamped version of the Ford Focus commonly used in Rally. They don't offer a Fiesta for sale anywhere close to what they have out there in the dirt, whereas at least the Focus there had been retail versions with performance specs, including an AWD iirc (then Ford said, "fuck you America, these awesome Focus's are now Europe-only. America, you get the kiddie version").

It was fun to watch all those little Euro-style hatchbacks blaze around the track in RallyCross competition, they looked like Micro Machines going crazy and on crack.

RallyCross they get to use higher-spec'd cars, while in true Rally they are more toned down, at least in comparison.

Is that with 3-time gold medalist Kurt Thomas?! :D

I love that film. My wife teaches gymnastics and has been to Kurt's gym on several occasions. I need to get this DVD and get an autograph.

My god, he beat the FUCK out of that car...and I was impressed by the flogging even before he demolished the rear tires.

Yes. Yes it is. It's campy.. but awesome.
The scene with Kurt on the makeshift pommel horse fighting off bad guys's while doing a pommel routine, is just AWESOME!

Ah yes, the village of crazies.

Hey look, that well looks just like pommel horse!

The best part of that scene is after all that fighting on it, he just dismounts and runs away.

While sometimes ricers do end up using the same cars as Rally (small sedan racing originated with Rally, btw), certain cars I consider more Rally than rice.

And the ones that are sold with the rally-inspired spec package, are very nimble and awesome cars to have if control and power are your thing. Muscle cars are great for the power, but they are far from nimble, at least compared to the AWD small sedans. Typically almost as heavy too, but the handling is amazing.

I do want my next car to be an AWD sedan, because having power available and yet quality handling during almost all weather conditions, would be very nice. You can't go crazy, but the cars are quite competent.
