I'd like to say I'm in excellent health and almost never do any cardio - just lifting. The claim that you can't be healthy with just lifting/no cardio is simply untrue.

When you do run you have any problems with your stamina? About 6 years ago when I decided to incorporate cardio into my exercise routine I could barely do two miles without being gassed.

Which can be done with Cardio too. Cardio can be a great fat butner, some of the best conditioned athletes in the world are sprinters, not an ounce of fat on them and they are usually prttet muscular.

The combination of the two is the best of both worlds, Weight lifting and on your off days hard cardio. What your trainer said about it be boring is true, however more than that HIIT in Cardio is also real tough and hard to stick with. I'm not talking about Power Walking or 3 miles in 30 minutes on the Elliptical, I mean at least 30 minutes of heart pounding cardio with little rests in between to catch your breath.

sprinting is not cardio.

This. ^

Ben Johnson squatted over 600 lbs. when he was in his sprinting heyday. Granted, he was on the juice, but the point is that sprinters often do a TON of weight training, usually more than they do cardio. You don't get to the point where you can squat 3 times your body weight by doing cardio.

Yep, pretty much anything that takes 45 seconds or less is primarily anaerobic (referring to maximal efforts).

The hard part is defining good health. Low risk of disease? The ability of the body to cope with various forms of stress? Do you limit the definition to your normal environment or include temperature variation? High energy? The ability to perform your chosen exercise better than the guy next to you? Kind of a hard topic to really nail down without culling through a lot of opinions.

Speaking of Ben Johnson, my dog is on Winstrol-V :); had to have it formulated since it's nearly impossible to get here even legally due to being the drug of choice.

It's helped her immensely.

Anaerobic fitness is important to aerobic activities. If you can tolerate and clear lactic acid you can go 'above' yourself to keep up on an incline or separate yourself from the competition and settle back in to a sustainable pace. You can also increase your lactate threshold and muscular strength.

None of that is cardio in the sense that it isn't primarily your heart or blood vessels that are adapting to the stress.

Nah. I'm not as fast with distance runs as I used to be when I trained it more often (and weighed less), but I can still push 10 miles when I want to.
