GWB refused to support Israel in bombing Iran!

Israel wanted to bomb Iran this year, US said no: report

OK, even those of you who oppose the man with every bit of your soul have to admit that he did the right thing here.

I, for one, am very grateful that cooler heads prevailed. The last thing I ever want to see is a war with Iran...

Bush gets a  this time...

Excerpt:
Israel seriously considered bombing Iran's nuclear sites earlier this year but US President George W. Bush refused to support such a strike, according to a British newspaper report.

I think we're all aware that even the most fundamentally nutso people in the US are not as bad as the fundamental nutjobs in the middle east on any side. It scares me to think that even Bush realizes the lunacy of bombing Iran, yet McCain a man who might actually be the next president sings songs about bombinb Iran. I'm not so sure McCain would take a stand as firmly against Israel wanting to bomb as Bush did. At times I think that Bush could prove to not be the worst president ever if McCain gets elected.

I wouldn't hold your breath dude.

I'll wait to see if it's confirmed by more sources. European media isn't exactly the most reliable and honest, especially the British media.

This is part of what scares me about McCain. I think he'd be all for it, and sooner rather than later. Attacking Iran could turn out to be a larger long-term mistake than invading Iraq.

if it didn't go so well to the tune of 'barbara ann' i don't think he would have done it.

Well we don't quite know that, but Palin's "we won't second guess Israel" pretty much gives them the green light, no? If they get elected the US will have no credibility with which to play peacemaker in the ME. Which suits the evangelicals fine of course, after all, the messiah won't come when there's peace, he comes when there's WW3.

I guess this was Bush second guessing Israel, eh?

Interesting story, I'll wait for more info to comment.

GOOD

so when Iran attacks Israel and they start lobbing nukes at each other we can BLAME BUSH for not doing something about Iran while on his watch.

I really hate that guy....

🙂

I can only imagine the change of attitude in the OP if Bush had said "yes."

how so? I've NEVER advocated war with Iran, and I'm NOT Bush's biggest fan.

So will Obama after Ahmedinejad embarrasses him through lies and failed diplomacy.

Better after than before. Better for the reasons Obama would than the reasons Republicans would.
Not bombing is obviously the best solution.

But if we ARE going to bomb then the sooner the better. The longer we wait the greater the risk Iran gets a nuke.

Imadinnerjacket is an idiot. The only persons he is capable of embarrassing are himself and the people of Iran. And as Obama correctly pointed out in tonight's debate, he is not the most powerful man in Iran.

What are you trying to be here on ATPN, anyway? The worst prophet, ever?

I will make the prediction that whoever is elected, McObama will allow Israel to bomb Iran's nuke facilities.
