Non-preppy blacks have a term for them... they call them white. If you honestly don't believe that stereotypical preps are white, you're living in a fantasy world.

Do the google image search! See how many pics of black people with popped collars it returns! And do a google image search for preppy while you're at it. And you might as well do a dictionary.com search for "unable to accept the truth in the face of overwhelming evidence."

and wearing a white tee has an obvious functionality behind it, so its not a fad in terms of fashion.

Did you not understand the leg warmer analogy? 😕 Leg warmers weren't a fad because they're functional? 😕

You know what's really funny? You initially said that the styles I listed in my first post were "cultural statements." Then it turns out that they wear the long tees so the police can't identify them. That's a pretty sad cultural statement.

regardless of what it is, there is a reason to wear white t's, which was my point...i never justified it. now if you don't like it, perhaps you could come down here from wonderful canada and teach us how to deal with it.

I'm far from a bigot, I'm simply willing to accept reality. If you look back at my past posts in other threads, you'd see that is true. I defend blacks when the clueless teens here say they tend to be poor because they're lazy. But you say I'm a bigot for saying certain stereotypes are predominantly white... when they are! Un-freaking-believable. You realize we're talking about clothes, right? 😕

I don't know what race you belong to and I don't care... but I can see that chip on your shoulder taking you far in life.
 
Popped collars and pre-worn ripped tattered jeans are lame.

I don't do it, however it's much much less annoying than those who act like they could beat up everyone in the room. You've seen them in their running pants, looking like they just came from the gym, usually driving a pick up. Too much testosterone makes one look like a total clown.
