Hey everyone... I've stopped overclocking systems a while ago... since college is pretty busy and I don't play games anymore so it didn't really matter...

anyway, the only system I have now is a 850MHz -> 1GHz AMD Duron.

ASUS KT133(A?) overclocked to FSB 133 x 7.5 multiplier... Voltage is maxed out at... 9 was it i don't remember... the highest the MB can do... i hope i'm still getting the terminology right... I have a GeForce 2 MX (original, not 200/400 from Hercules)... 300W PSU

While I was using the computer yesterday... the video started to mess us... weird color on the desktop background.. so i restarted
And after a few hours the weirdest thing happened... the computer just sort of shut down... the screen went blank and everyone is gone... keyboard doesn't work.. but the computer is still on (ie I can still open CD-ROM tray.. etc.. lights are still on) If I restart the computer will work fine for a few hours, then does the same thing.

Currently I have 3 idea as to what is going on.

1. the video card is dying. This will explain the weird color when the problems started to happen. But it does not explain why the rest of the computer dies when the vid card goes.

2. the cpu is dying. This will explain why everything goes bye bye but the computer is still on... almost like a dead CPU with no POST... but it works fine for a few hours? Ans its not the temp... CPU temp is 45C and MB temp is 33C.

3. the PSU is losing power. This will explain why everything shuts down... but the computer stays on!

Anyone have a different suggesting or how I can try to resolve this? I don't have an extra CPU... I guess I can borrow my roommate's videocard.. and for PSU... I might be able to borrow one... but I want to get some feedback first. Can you please help? It's been a while since i've remotely touched the inside of my overclocked system.... it was stable for a very long time... all of a sudden it does this...

Thanks, bleuiko

Oh and i just thought of something... the CPU is unlocked (?) by a pencil making across the top of the chip... but I havn't really touched the chip.. so the making should still be there? Would this explain the problem?
