Hey guys, I've got a floppy disk with an essay on it. Unfortunetly the disk says that it has been 'corrupted' when I try to access the file. Does anyone have any ideas as to how I could get this file ?

Got an old win9x? machine? Run a scandisk on it from the programs--->accessories--->system tools menu

Hold another floppy above this one, and use a strong magnet to pull all the data from the bottom one to the top one!

;)

Or, if scandisk and other repair utilities fail, as well as data recovery utilities, you can always resort to using a diskeditor to ignore corrupted parts and just copy raw data off it.

I did something similar two weeks ago. Download Knoppix, boot it up and try opening the files. Worked for me. Yay Linux!
