Guys, need help configuring a system.

My uncle is in search for a new computer (upgrade from Pentium 200). I offered to help him customize build one for him.
I am puzzled now because he has a budget, around 600-700. I took at look at the Dell OptiPlex GX240, with coupons you can get it less than 450 (before 100 rebate), however, i think this system is kind of obsolete (using SDRAM). Therefore I went to newegg to look at some of the components.

I am looking at the
Intel P4 1.6a
845 board
256mb ddr ram
ati 8500le

this is only a preliminary choice.

Please shoot me with ideas about the componest/combos...

I'm not an expert on Intel stuff(I have AMD) but that looks like a pretty decent system. If you don't know exactly what motherboard you're gonna get, you should do some research to find a good performance/good price one.

Why you going with P4? AMD AthlonXP will give you performance for less money!
