Basicly i want to buy a new laptop, that is very well made for gaming, so with a lot of searching i came to two options based on my budget. First one is HP Pavilion Gaming 15-bc002nm with Intel-i7 6700hq quad cores 6th gen 16gb ram gddr4 ram and nvidia geforce Gtx 960m 4 GB GDDR5 , and other one is LENOVO IDEAPAD 700-15 with Intel-i7 6700hq quad cores 6th gen 16gb ram gddr4 and nvidia Gtx 950 4gb gddr3. So my questions are which one of these are better for stronger games, and stronger applications like gta v witcher and autodesk inventro, whats the difference between gtx 960m and gtx 950, i searched and found that 960m has on high settings, in games like gta v, solid 30 fps and 950 has solid 50, so im not really sure how is 950 better than 960m, and yea, Thank you very much for your time spent on this text, im just a little worried to buy laptop and dont get expected quality.Have a great Day!

The 960M is a bump up in graphics performance over the 950M. The 950M shouldn't be showing as performing better unless you are looking at a video of the 950 desktop card. It's also possible that it was maybe a 2GB versus 4GB card or some other peculiarities, but you are looking at two models with the same amount of RAM (4GB, though of different type). Also you can't compare the test of one reviewer versus another in YouTube videos, as they may having different testing methodologies, may be using different hardware, etc. I'd go with the HP in this case as the other specs are identical or close enough.

Here's a video from one reviewer directly comparing both cards:

The HP model should be better across the board for games and applications, so I think you can choose it without worry. :) Hope you enjoy your purchase!

What's your budget? The new 1060/70 laptops are out and they are full desktop chips. The 1000 series destroy all the 900 series mobile chips in performance.

Asus, MSI, Sager/Clevo. Pretty much don't buy anything but those brands. Almost all "boutique"/unknown brand gaming laptops are rebrands of Sager/Clevo machines. You can skip them and go directly to the source if you want one of those.

Razer and Alienware are for if you have too much money.

I loved my Lenovo Y50, but the bigger brand name "gaming laptops" aren't really designed for sustained gaming - and the price shows it. Lenovo, Dell, HP, stay away from those for gaming.

The Lenovo does not have a 950 gtx... It has the mobile card. Their website is terribly misleading.

Since he's quoting a budget in Euros I'll go as far as stating he'll have nowhere near that kind of price/performance available to him, given VAT. With a EUR 1500 budget in mind, the OP could take a look at something like this: http://www.notebook.de/asus-gl502vs-fy030d-intel-core-i7-6700hq-260ghz-dosgtx-1070-p-92520

But it'll be very difficult to get a good ssd, 16gb memory, a 6700 cpu, and a 1070+ in a laptop for EUR 1500. Even the laptop linked by Renz doesn't have an ssd in it. The one I linked above does not either, but it has a 6700 and a 1070, but 8gb ram. OP since you're in the EU look at price comparison websites like idealo for price checks.

I have that lenovo laptop but the 17 inch model and 960M. I tossed the 1tb spin drive and put in a 1tb SSD. This bably plays every single release with zero to little lag at all. The 960m does perform better than the 950m. I got it for 900 bucks on newegg but it shot up to 1100 or so shortly after.

You must buy something with dedicated graphic card. In my opinion good devices to games begin from 1000 Euro.
