We'll probably have another deadly COVID variant to deal with at some point. Not sure what Greek letter it will get... Zeta, perhaps?

I'd figure that one will show up around early 2024 to mess with the Olympics and the next US presidential election cycle. Humanity isn't allowed to have nice things anymore.

Again.... Winter! ;)

Don't worry they'll be happily decimating the few remaining healthy bee-hives in the Pacific NW in no time flat!

Fortunately for you I doubt they can survive the frozen tundra!

Also beyond the risk to bee-keepers THIS particular "problem" is seriously exaggerated! If you know how to handle not being stung around yellowjackets/other wasps or native hornets you'll be okay around these guys.

"Asian giant hornets are commonly referred to as ‘murder hornets’ in the media. Their name has led the public to believe they present a terrible danger or threat to humans. Contrary to popular belief, they got their nickname from their predatory habits towards insects, including honeybees! They will only attack humans if their colonies and nests are being threatened."

~ per the California Center for Invasive species

It doesn't really get all that cold in Southern California. I'd like to imagine that the the murder hornets are training down there right now, forming hornet gangs and becoming extra murderous :)

Not to be forgotten for a second is the Global Warming Crisis. Even if Russia's obsession with reassembling the USSR mercilessly and at all costs and sowing division and doubt in and ultimately the collapse of America fails, if we don't get a leg up on the GWC, we will face ever greater catastrophes for which we'll have nothing like satisfactory answers.

If we nuke the earth we will get global cooling due to nuclear winter. Problem solved.

The White Horse - disease
The Red Horse - war
The Black Horse - famine
The Pale Horse - death.

I guess we're now on horseman number two.

White horse is Glory. Disease wasn't part of the original cadre, probably changed so religion could actually make use of glory for personal gain.

If they were going to mess about with it, they could at least have added "inflation". Oh, and maybe "Carbon Dioxide".

Since this isn't P&N I'll avoid any specific reference to the red horse! ;)

Uh...have you seen out there? It's scary. The burning sky ball hurts. Small flying things attack you. Crazy people try to run you over in their suburban land battleships. No thanks

I wish the burning sky ball would start to hurt a little more, might mean we were closer to summer than still in winter :)

I gotta say some of those battleship commanders in their big SUV's are freaking maniacs. Just wear a helmet when you drive and maybe linebacker padding.

Who here had "Huge parachuting spiders invading the southeast" in their bracket?

This one is a "phobia-special" lol ..... these are essentially the same as "Banana-spiders" and are 100% harmless to humans. (also despite being an invasive species they've yet to be shown to harm the environment)

About as "scary" as these guys: ;)

Worst thing about these type of spiders is walking into their huge sticky webs all over the place at night!

Yeah, I've come across them before in NC a few times. We actually had one who had a web on our backyard deck one summer.

They are very big, and if you get too close to them, they start bouncing on their web, and it is a little creepy.

But that's the only impact they really have with humans. They do eat a lot of bugs, so that's good a thing. Since he wasn't bothering us, we left him to do his thing.
