guys can i overclock my cpu with this board

hello guys i have a big problem can i overclock mu i5 6600k with my b250 hd 3p gigabyte because if i set my bcl higher my pc wont start . can any one help me here please
 
Yeah Intel makes sure they get every possible dime from overclockers, even after they get extra from someone buying a K version cpu. Need a Z chipset nothing less. Artificial limitation only as usual with Intel.
 
i know but it,s not possible to overclock my cpu to 4ghz or can i do that because i can set it to 4,2ghz but when im booting up is crashes and i only can set vcore to 1.300
 
NO!

Buy a Z170 or Z270 board if you want to overclock that CPU. (Or an ASRock B150 K4/Hyper, like I have. Don't think that they still make those though.)
