Guy selling a computer with Vista?

He's selling the computer with a copy of Vista RC1 and that is illegal, but its not illegal to sell a computer with a legit copy as your title is misleading in that regard.

sorry. i didnt know it was legal to sell a computer with any MS beta software on it. im assuming it isnt
 
I sold my old computer on craigslist with Vista Ultimate RC2.

Who cares it's free anyway! Whats the difference if I download it or he downloads it? Either way it would end up on the same machine.

I made it clear it was beta. And he knew he'd either have to buy it later or install something else on it. I just put it on so the buyer could see the computer worked or had something to use until he got something for it. I dont know what the technicallties are about it but I dont see any reason to be all anal about it.
 
I would assume it would be legal if the seller specifies that it is beta software thus the RC1 I would assume? (I never followed the beta so I dunno)

haha, yeah, hopefully they dont call microsoft about it when their trial runs out 😉

I could see how in a way itd be a good idea, because that way you have an OS to put on the computer when you sell it. And of course the trial runs all the way til July 07, right?

and many craigslist buyers are too stupid to think about long term investments, and some of them wont even read the ad entirely, lol.

every eval/beta CD from MS i have ever seen says not for resale

read the EULA, i am sure it can't be sold

let the guy check it out with the beta on it, then wipe the disk before delivery

people are just trying to make their barren system look better, so they are putting vista on it, lol.

i should send that link to microsoft so that they can bust the guy 😉
