Never saw anything like was mentioned on here about the people in white vans offering stuff outta the trunk but just had it. Guy had a brown suv like an expedition, had me roll down my window and asked if I wanted a home theatre system! Says he got it free from work! I asked him aren't you supposed to be in a white van? He looked stunned and drove away. Then tried to ask someone at a traffic light if they wanted the system. Next time I take a plate number down! :)

The electronics in a white van scam is well documented and well known.

It's crap hardware that someone is trying to pass off as top-of-the-line, and as such, give you a 'huge discount' on it, when in reality you're really paying way too much. Actually, though, this distribution system has been examined on other sites and might actually be legitimate (from the factory to you direct).

No, those manufacturers actually market their products this way. Ofcourse they don't admit to it.
