Guy keeps giving out my email address as his own

For over a year now, I've had a guy confusing my gmail address for whatever his email address might be. I get the random attempts to reset my gmail address, but this guy also registered himself on a couple of dating Web sites with my email address and then I started getting his trash mail. I also got all his registration info, so I was able to access his online dating accounts.

He's like a mid-50s white guy living in Monroe, LA and it's pretty clear that he's looking for love in whatever form it comes (fat chicks welcome!). Not knowing how to contact the guy, I added a few lines to his dating profiles asking him to change his email address. I let it go for a week and he didn't do anything, so I reset the email address to nowhere, turned off his accounts and changed the passwords.

As the months pass, I get random crap that he signs up for. I got his registration email for when he stayed a night at Circus Circus in Vegas, for example. I could have called to cancel or upgrade him, but I don't really care to mess with the old and feeble-minded.

Yesterday, I got an email from someone I don't know and she was trying to send a picture. She forgot to attached the pic, and I figured it was just random Internet crap.

Today, same woman writes (she wrote this, it's not my spelling):

Dear XXXXX,

I am on my way to work and thought I would send you a email. So what do you have planned for this weekend? I will be off at 1:30 and the to home for the weekend. So I woundered if you would like to call me? My # is 318-XXX-XXXX this is my cell and I will have this with me today. I hope you got the picture and I didn't scare you off. Okay I must go to the resterant for the lunch rush hope to talk to you later.

Sharon

I Googled this chick, and she exists and she's from Monroe, LA. I don't think it's a phishing thing... and she's already got my email address. Should I let her know that her emails are being misdirected?

I considered asking her to forward some pics, but I'm not sure I want to see them.

Cliffs:
1) Old dude doesn't know his email address
2) I get email meant for him from a chick (who wants the old bone)
3) Should I let her know she's emailing the wrong guy?

I would email all those things to hopefully relay to him he's an idiot.

I've had the same thing happen with my cell phone - some doctor in MI had his office phone listed as mine on yellow-pages sort of website and i ended up with random calls asking for Dr. Whateever. I ended up having to call his real office number and get that shit fixed.

I have friend with the same problem.

He has the email address j[lastname]@gmail.com and gets Jessica [lastname]'s email all the time. It drives him nuts. He got her physical mail address from her Amazon account and mailed her a letter. Things have slowed down since then.

You are a better man than I.

Ask, then post them here. It's your only logical choice.

Ok, I might be kidding . . . somewhat . . . sort of.

I have the same problem, some old lady signed up for [first initial].[lastname]@gmail.com when I already owned [first initial][lastname]@gmail.com, I have no idea why she thinks that is her email as it shouldn't have let her register it. I usually just reply back to the emails telling them to tell her to change her email.

Okay, I guess this is why I come to ATOT. For some reason, I hadn't considered the potential of sending something to her.

I don't know the old dude's email address, and I haven't put in the time to stalk his residential address (I know his name and what city he lives in).

I'm not sure it matters anyway; his email address must be pretty similar to mine and that's why he keeps using mine. I think he's just confused when he uses my email address. I don't think that I get all of his email because it only comes about once every month or two.

Same thing happens to me. I am a[lastname]@gmail.com and I continually get Anne [lastname]'s e-mail.

It slowed down a bit after she signed my E-mail up for her automated banking alerts and I sent her information about her balance (the bank was sending me E-mails with account balances in them, I did not log into any of her banking accounts) and told her to stop using my E-mail address.

Then about 2 months later it started up again and didn't slow until her boss E-mailed me and I sent him back a letter suggesting that he hire people who were smart enough to give out their correct E-mail addresses after 3 years of my sending her messages telling her to stop giving out my E-mail as hers.

The worst part was that it took about 3 months to get this woman's grandmother to believe that I wasn't this "Anne" person. I must've sent a dozen E-mails back to this old woman explaining that I wasn't her grand daughter. I eventually lost it and sent back an expletive-laden E-mail. Got an E-mail back from Anne's mother or aunt scolding me for making the grandmother cry. I told her that if she was too stupid to figure it out after months of polite E-mails, she deserved to cry. Never got another E-mail from grandma or the mother/aunt/whatever.

I keep getting e-mail from a church group across the country that thinks I'm one of their youth group leaders ... this is even after I've e-mailed back to let them know that they have the wrong e-mail address.

He's way too restrained. I'd have thrown in some fisting or granny porn (or both if I could find it).

Some guy in Australia gets some of my emails. We've talked about it and had a laugh. Apparently he gets other peoples too cause he'll forward them to me and ask if it's mine and when I say no we have a laugh.

One time some chick was propositioning someone with our name, he was like "Mate, I don't think they're that close but you don't happen to go to Chicago often do you?" (I was in LA at the time). I said no, and he forwarded me this email of a chick setting up a rendezvous at a Chicago area hotel. He then said "You should go". I might have but it was Chicago and it is pretty far from LA...

THis thread should be in L&R, btw.

That or throw a couple random numbers on the end. No probs. First initial last name by itself sounds like a dumb idea anyway unless it's a company/school domain email.
