Isn't this pretty much explicitly forbid? IIRC you can have them at your desk, but to hand them out qualifies as harassment.

I'm seriously annoyed by it. My religion is NOT open to discussion ESPECIALLY at work. Fvcking proselytizing a$$hole.

I'd end up napping....which would probably get me in trouble.

Nothing like being offended by the trivial things in life...
Throw it away and move on with your day. It isnt like he's peeing on your chair while you watch.

This is a downward spiral with this guy. I promise you if he doesn't get a smackdown about this it will only get worse. I don't bring it home with me, but the last thing I need is to have to worry about his religious zealotry. We're at work, there to work, not worry about the souls of others. Do that on your own time.

I get thrilled when I get a chick's comics religous proproganda sheet. Something about them have a great humor value. Otherwise other religous material is worthless.

Ah. I thought maybe this was a quick drop it on your desk and move on thing, not a reoccuring attack of dumbass on his part.

So you're getting pissed off about a guy handing out pieces of paper?

I think you're blowing it out of proportion, buddy. The way I see it, the guy may not be too aware of the company policy. Just pull him aside and just kindly inform him that it might not be too appropriate at work...and just leave it at that. However, you must give the guy some credit. Religion, as you already expressed, is a deeply personal thing. I can't fathom the idea that he's giving out pamplets to make anybody upset. He's only trying to share something that is personal and important to him because he believes it could help you out. So instead of being offended per se, perhaps you could feel more complimented by the idea that someone cares about you enough to share something like that with you, whether you agree or disagree with it. I'm not sure why personal beliefs/religion is treated with such taboo in some places...

No, it's not. It's only harassment if he harasses you. It's not harassment if you have something lodged in your colon.

I'm seriously annoyed by it. My religion is NOT open to discussion ESPECIALLY at work. Fvcking proselytizing a$$hole.
Wow, you're going to go far in life.

No, I'm getting pissed off at the prosthelytizing. I am very serious about my spirituality, which is not in accord with him he seems to view this as a failing on my part and is endeavoring to save me. This pisses me off. If I told you he was a satanist would it change your opinion?

Meh, there's a reason that stuff like this is considered harassment. It might not seem like much if someone's handing out pamphlets, but it's a *workplace*. You're there to work, not to have a paper telling you that you're going to hell handed to you.

I think it most certainly would, and I'd say most would feel the same if people were handing out pro/anti-Bush/Kerry fliers. People simply shouldn't have to be confronted with such social conditions at work. It makes many people uncomfortable, it divides colleagues, and elicits arguments; there's no good that can come of it.

Keep religion and politics out of my work, please. I agree with you.

Ignorance, or naivete does not excuse inappropriate behavior though it may alter the punishment.

That's a lot closer to what I wanted to say, heh.
