I have always been intrigued with the Vonich Manuscript. The Voynich Manuscript has baffled top experts in numerous fields for generations, the team of cryptographers that broke the Enigma code even tried and failed. This guy and his two sons worked on it in their spare time as a family project over 4 years and have decoded 30% of it so far. What they have deciphered so far makes sense, it looks like they actually did it. He has submitted a paper to an academic journal at Johns Hopkins and is flying to Turkey to meet language experts to decode the rest of it.

Go look at the wikipedia page before they change it, and look at the various claims of what type of cypher they think it was written in.
There are going to be so many people with egg on their face now that they solved.

You've watched too many Twilight Zone episodes. An alien race comes to Earth, promising peace and sharing technology. A linguist and his team set out to translate the aliens' language, using a book whose title they deduce is "To Serve Man".
We have an unknown book that is trying to be translated by linguists and they have not been successful. It looks like they something was trying to make a soup or stew our of a bunch of ladies. Since the book is from the 1400s I can only surmise that they did not find humans tasty so they left. The only evidence they were ever here is one cookbook that one of them left behind.

Nooooope what? That debunk is from September of last year man and it's from a tv reality guy most likely looking for his 15.
It doesn't matter anyway even if this team of dad and sons did manage to crack the manuscript it's not like it's going to open the universe and all of lifes secrets will be reveled to humankind so we can start focusing on what is the true purpose of humanity. It's a fucking book that dates back to the Middle Ages what possible secret could it reveal from one of humanities worst time periods?

pretty much this!
so much resources poured into deciphering this book as if it's gonna unlock a mystery of the universe or something.

I agree. I mean, honestly though, the intrigue is there, and I honestly have been interested in passing everytime the subject of this book comes up... but again, nothing will come of it because ya.. most likely it was someone's doodle haha

Yes the contents of the book are still made up, even if the translation holds true there is not much to be gained from it.

So technically this is still a hoax, but an historical one. It was likely written by someone who wanted to pass it for something esoteric for $$$ reasons.
