This is false, last time I tried multi-GPU I was sensitive to its graphical hitches yet I've never had a "smoothness" problem with my single 7950 even before AMD addressed the issue. Has Guru3D or anyone else run a test with the latest driver to see if it is still dropping frames? Given Nvidia's obsession with such things when it was a jab against their competitor, Nvidia should be harangued about it until they fix it even if it can only be noticed via machine measurements.

Crossfire.

.... Bro, let it go. You're accusing me of being near blind? Really? Why don't you just accept that some people aren't sensitive to such things. I'm not saying others aren't able to see it. There are plenty of people that weren't able to see it. In fact, my most of family and friends weren't able to detect those "micro-stutters". Just accept the fact that there are other people out there that aren't able to detect it without resorting to accusing people of being near blind. Seriously..

edit: I didn't look at any video posted online. So I don't know. I'm just going by games we play.

I'll help you out here. Just give me a few and I'll take you down that whole dusty road with links, side by side videos, articles and commentary.
I think instead of me letting it go, you should grab and hold on. ;)

No doubt! Tolerance levels differ! But, what do you do if one can? Personally voiced views for years! Personally asked for more investigations! Personally asked the IHV's to do more in this area!

This awareness created a huge smile on my face based on companies were willing to discuss going beyond frame rate and a win-win for company and consumer.

With both nVidia and AMD spending resources here is very welcomed.

Appreciate the offer. But, no thanks. I'll continue playing the games I play until I actually notice such things. Until then, I'm ok with my insensitivity. :)

More and more frame pacing results are coming in. It looks the GTX 9xx SLI is no different then the GTX 7xx SLI in terms of smoothness. Yes, there are some frame drops. Yes, the 4k gaming experience is less than optimal when compared to AMD. But, unless you're sensitive to such things, it looks to be okay.

It's not his equipment that is "experiencing issues." It's Nvidia's. They made it, they gave it to him so that he could sling mud at their competition. Now that AMD fixed their problems so well that SLI looks worse the equipment is malfunctioning. Oh irony.

Funny I don't think the excuse would have worked if AMD suggested that FCAT was experiencing issues during the entire FUD campaign about Crossfire last year.

Irony?

I dont see how you can say that at all.
It just proves that the FCAT system was legitimate. As in, it does what it was claimed to do. It is not biased

As for what it is saying...
There is enough data floating around now to see that there are some games that do better than others. Some appear to be dropping frames according to FCAT.

Dropped frames, yeah not ideal. But back when smoothness was a heavy topic in debate there was a completely different concept being talked about. Do you remember what it was?

Frame Times.

There was not a discussion about Tahiti smoothness that didnt have this term in it. As a matter of fact, very few post on the matter where the term was absent. Its a whole different matter all together.

This is not saying that dropped frames are good. But you and everyone else knows that the discussion on smoothness was much larger than dropped frames.

There is plenty of data coming in and frame times are not bad. So while there are some games showing dropped frames with FCAT, its not near this sensational headline some want it to be. There is no reviewers out there seeing stutter nor a major lack in smoothness.

As for the dropped frames, I think it is on Nvidia to fix this. And i would expect people to want this to be resolved. It is just not this huge ironic event that your trying to make it out to be.

Well, this is equivalent to holding one"s hands over one's ears and shouting "La La La La La".

I didn't know this was a "AMD vs Nvidia Frame time Review (with FCAT)" thread.

Yeah? Interesting how things look from your perspective.

Yeah. Why don't you go and dredge up your old threads. I'm curious to see your posts about FCAT and dropped frames. See if your position about them has changed.

My position is the same. My position adapts to the circumstances at hand as it always should. I stand by what I said. The stuttering and choppiness was blatant in the 7970 testing. Side by side videos were shown. It was obvious to anyone who saw them, especially when the video was slowed down, then it was like "Wow". You know, you were there.

Today, nobody is mentioning anything about choppy or stuttering play. Quite the contrary.
I'm sorry, that is just the way it is and I'm not favoring anything over the other. Just witnessing the info just the same as you. Well, maybe not the same as you. ;)

Huh? What? I thought we're talking about FCAT results. Not raw framerates. Of course the 980 sli is comparable in the framerate department. It better be for a new flagship.

Why do I have to look at things in SLOW MOTION, in side-by side view; while removing myself from the gaming experience to see the stutters? If I can't detect it in real time, while gaming, it really doesn't matter; except to the people that can detect it in real-time. LOL

Look, I'm not saying it wasn't there. I'm just saying I can't detect. Let it go, bro. let it go.

The point was even at real time it wasn't smooth to many people, slowing it down allowed us to see why we felt it wasn't right and see clearly the difference. It just made it more obvious. FCAT allows us to objectively measure frame drops and stuttering in a graph without needing the obvious video showing the differences.

It's AMD bro. He'll never see it any other way. Consider the messenger. It was all AMD cheating last round..now that's Nvidia, it can't be...It's hypocritcal and that's all you need to know.
