Alright
I got something to say
It's better to burn out than fade away
All right
Gonna start a fire

I should really stop listening to 80's "Metal"

1. Def Leppard is hardly metal

2. Rock of Ages ROCKS!

Rise up, gather round / Rock this place into the ground!

Is that what their saying? Man all these years I've listened to Def Leppard and I never could make out what they were saying.

So now, what does it mean?

From their web site

What does "Gunter Glieben Glauten Globen" mean?
Nothing in particular (although the band sometimes jokingly claims it means "running through the forest silently"). It's gibberish said by producer Mutt Lange during the recordings of "Rock Of Ages", instead of the regular one, two, three, four.

Time for a lesson in the history of rock, 101.

The Def Leppard album Pyromania took over a year to record in the studio due to the anal personality of their producer. Sometimes, to lighten the mood, he would replace 1, 2, 3, 4 (at the start of the song) with made up words. They recorded these made up words and put them at the beginning of Def Leppard's "Rock of Ages..." which is far better than "Pretty Fly for a White Guy."

"Gunter Glieben Glauten Globen" is also at the beginning of that Offspring song "Pretty Fly for a White Guy".

It's the same clip. The Offspring stole/sampled (different meaning whether you're a music fan/rap fan) from "Rock of Ages."

Ooooh, I'll second and third Blizzard of Oz! That's one of my all time favorites.

I'll also put out Simon and Garfunkel's Greatest Hits...and with that, I'm going to bed. :D

As did I. Heck I still have several of their old 8 tracks and all the albums on vinyl up until they stopped printing vinyl.

Rock of Ages by Def Leppard
Gunter glieben glauchen globen
All right
I got something to say
Yeah, it's better to burn out
Yeah, than fade away
All right
Ow
Gonna start a fire
C'mon!
Rise up! gather round
Rock this place to the ground
Burn it up let's go for broke
Watch the night go up in smoke
Rock on! Rock on!
Drive me crazier, no serenade
No fire brigade, just-a pyromania
C'mon
What do you want?
What do you want?
I want rock'n'roll
Yes I do
Long live rock'n'roll
Oh let's go, let's strike a light
We're gonna blow like dynamite
I don't care if it takes all night
Gonna set this town a-light
C'mon
What do you want?
What do you want?
I want rock'n'roll
All right
Long live rock'n'roll
Oh yeah yeah
Rock of ages, rock of ages
Still rollin', keep a-rollin'
Rock of ages, rock of ages
Still rollin', rock'n'rollin'
We got the power, got the glory
Just say you need it and if you need it
Say yeah!
Ooh yeah
Heh heh heh heh
Now listen to me
I'm burnin', burnin', I got the fever
I know for sure, there ain't no cure
So feel it, don't fight it, go with the flow
Gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme one more for the road yeah
What do you want?
What do you want?
I want rock'n'roll
You betcha
Long live rock'n'roll
Now hands
Rock of ages, rock of ages
Still rollin', keep a-rollin'
Rock of ages, rock of ages
Still rollin', rock'n'rollin'
We got the power, got the glory
Just say you need it and if you need it
Say yeah!
Say yeah!
We're gonna burn this damn place down
Ooh whooh
Down to the ground
Heh heh heh heh heh heh heh heh heh heh heh heh
