Gunshots at my neighbors house, yet again

I have plans on building my own private shooting range this fall.

Plans are to take about a dozen cross-ties, build a 3 sided box, then fill the box full of sand. The range will only be about 100 yards. For around here that is about all you need.
 
I shoot in my backyard all the time. There are houses all around, but my property satisfies the distance requirement from other roads, houses, etc... to discharge a firearm.

I shoot in my yard all the time, ditto some of the neighbors. There's a skunk running around the neighborhood. We've all been waiting for a clean shot (no house or swimming pool beyond the target.)

So jealous 🙁

I really wish there was an outdoor range at least around me. The closest one is over an hour away and it's a private only gun club with $600 one time up front then $300 a year cost. PLUS you have to be confirmed in by at least two existing members.

Price and distance make it very impractical.

At least I have a decent brand new indoor range within 5 miles from my home but it's still as you described, noobs to one side and people firing something that punches you in the chest on the other side on top of the range master being a bit overly jumpy.
 
Why are you posting here vs. getting your guns out and walking/driving over there to help them stimulate the economy with ammo purchases?

I never would kill a snake just for that fact, I hate friggin rats..We have a no-discharge policy in my county in any residential area..

As someone in the disease field, you should know there are a wide range of conditions that can transfer from wild animals to livestock and to humans.

I used rabies as a single example.

Should we wait until the skunk transfers parasites to a farm animal? How many parasites are carried by a skunk? Do those parasites pose a threat to livestock or poultry?

Should we wait until the skunk kills all of the chickens?

A wild animal at the perimeter, or inside the perimeter of a farm, is a threat.

I do not kill king snakes or grass snakes.

Copperheads, chicken snakes, cotton mouths,,, are dealt with.

I would think that a swimming pool would be an ideal location. :hmm:
