It strikes me as odd that someone armed with an "assault rifle" (notwithstanding the political connotations of that term), on a shooting spree, couldn't manage to kill a single person.

In all fairness, the DC sniper team, armed with a comparatively benign AR-15, killed nearly all their victims with a single shot.

As for the CCW, my take on that changed a bit when a regular poster on the Glock Talk BBS (which I frequent from time to time) was killed when he pulled his concealed G21 in an effort to foil a liquor-store robbery. Luckily, in this case nobody died.

If this guy had any skill whatsoever, he'd do a helluva lot more damage with this so-called 'assault rifle' than a properly trained CCW holder would do in 'retaliation'.

Incidentally, 'defense' may be a better word.

I know plenty of dumbasses with drivers licenses that shouldn't have them. I bet the odds are better they'll kill someone than a dumbass with a CCW.
