I have no idea what you are talking about.

However, I AM from Illinois, and that is the general consensus with regard to Chicago and the gun laws in our state, with Chicago having a gun ban in place, yet most of the gun crime in our state happens in Chicago. The OP's situation sounds just like Chicago.
