Wow, who knew the way to curb gun crime would be to work to curb crime?

Going further, who knew the way to deal with societal issues is to get together as a society and address them?
Its sad that in order for them to get proper attention to what is pretty fucking obvious fixes for crime and societal issues in general (get social groups together and discuss issues then address them in what seems to be the best way - i.e. don't just yell at the cops to fix homelessness or other idiocy), they're having to specifically tout the gun violence reduction.
Don't get me wrong, this is a good thing and shows the good that working together can have on a community (which is what people have been telling police and Republicans and every other raging lunatic asshole that howls about crime and other issues whilst not just ignoring the underlying issues, but actively working to stop everything they can that would help such), but, just, wow at the way they're trying to frame this, and wow that they act surprised it worked. There's ample data that had been showing this already in a multitude of areas (works basically everywhere you try it, including prisons).
