This is the kind of "evidence" I expect from Republicans. God only knows how many times Bush has put his foot so far up his mouth that he could twinkle his toes out his sphincter.

It's hard to tell from the picture but the gun could be tilted away from him. It may only appear that he's looking down the barrel because it's a 2D image.

WTF is his canteen doing tied to his pack where he can't even reach it without taking the pack off? In VN the troops in the field had their canteens, usually 2, hanging on their web belt at their waist where they could grab it and get a drink.

As to where was GW during VN, he doesn't have to worry about your question. He is THE man. He has his finger on the button and you had best fear him!

Do you think that a REMF like Al would be given a magazine, much less live ammunition? That's probably a rubber duckie rifle. Of course, that's not to say that George would have either, but that's another issue.

I think PJ O'Rourke said it best. To paraphrase him... If Al Gore and George W. hadn't been the sons of famous political figures, they wouldn't have gone to Yale and Harvard. They would have gone somewhere like Kent State instead. Al would have picked up on the hippie thing a bit late, and George would have served in a REAL national guard unit - shooting Al.

Yeah, and Bush's pics are all over the net just like this one. Democrats are happy only when Republicans are made fun of.

lol. what kind of idiot looks down his gun when his pack's on. the only reason i can forsee to look down the gun barrel is when cleaning it. you dont stand up to clean those things. you pull the bolt out and clean from behind. just like Al is used to doing to Clinton.

alright, the last statement was just an inflammatory remark, and has absolutely no relevence. just to see if twits will respond. so, ya wanna?

As much as I hate Gore.....

He isn't looking down the barrel. He is installing a sling. The slide buckle is on the front swivel. And I ALWAYS carry my canteen on my ruck sack. #1, it is less weight hanging off your belt. #2, it is easier to move around in brush. To drink, reach over shoulder, pop snap, and pull out the canteen.

I carried two canteens, but usually filled my 2nd one with WaterGel incase I had to make some noise. Pop a #8 blasting cap in the witch and you had one nice little firecracker.

Obviously, you were never in VN. The grunts carried their canteens on their web belt.

well, just installing a sling while wearing full bush pack doesnt seem very bright to me.

besides, look at the size of his pack. what the he!! is he carrying in there? the kitchen sink? or just the bathroom one.

i've been a backpacker for about 5 years, i've carried a lot of stuff. but i never let my pack get above 70 lbs. and it never looks that huge. i realize in mil you have to carry about 100 lbs, but jeez, I would never have my pack look like that. It'd be like saying to vietcong, "Im here, shoot me first!".

Besides, IRT Halik, I'd only let snipers who survived Vietnam teach me about gun safety. it'll bring the pool as a whole way down. as 90% of snipers in Vietnam didnt survive Vietnam. and he most assuredly wasnt a sniper. A sniper has to place far more faith in his rifle than the standard foot soldier. You're only out there with your spotter, who only has a pistol. who you gonna call to back you up?

Well, maybe Special forces. the ones who were smart enough to throw the m-16's in the river and pick up a AK at the first oppertunity off the first dead dude you see.

There is no way to tell the depth in that pic. The barrel of the gun is outside of his arm, therefore the gun could be facing a foot outside of his head/face.
