well, just installing a sling while wearing full bush pack doesnt seem very bright to me.
besides, look at the size of his pack. what the he!! is he carrying in there? the kitchen sink? or just the bathroom one.
i've been a backpacker for about 5 years, i've carried a lot of stuff. but i never let my pack get above 70 lbs. and it never looks that huge. i realize in mil you have to carry about 100 lbs, but jeez, I would never have my pack look like that. It'd be like saying to vietcong, "Im here, shoot me first!".
Besides, IRT Halik, I'd only let snipers who survived Vietnam teach me about gun safety. it'll bring the pool as a whole way down. as 90% of snipers in Vietnam didnt survive Vietnam. and he most assuredly wasnt a sniper. A sniper has to place far more faith in his rifle than the standard foot soldier. You're only out there with your spotter, who only has a pistol. who you gonna call to back you up?
Well, maybe Special forces. the ones who were smart enough to throw the m-16's in the river and pick up a AK at the first oppertunity off the first dead dude you see.
