Why does everybody think it's suicide? I've heard of accidents like this happen before. It's stupid, and totally preventable, but it happens.

First of, as noted, guns don't accidentally go off. The negligently go off. As sad as it might be, this was the officers own fault.

Secondly, it's not a damn clip! It's called a magazine for christ's sake. You think by now, people would understand the difference.

My initial guess would be suicide. When I was a cop this subject would come up every once in a while. If cops kill themselves, they set it up to make it look like an "accident" and the department will pretend that it is as well.

Yup, much like returning officers do, i like the "dropped shotgun" one the best, seems to be the least painful one.

Seriously?

Yes seriously. Again, guns don't go off accidentally. A trigger must be pulled. Pulling the trigger when not following the other essential safety rules is called negligence. That gun went of negligently when its owner pulled the trigger.

why would he take the clip out if it was suicide?

If I was supremely depressed, and intent on committing suicide, but didn't want to leave my family in both emotional and financial despair, I would take steps that would make it appear to be an accident.

Obviously it could have been an accident, the reason it's suspect (in my mind) is because of the person's profession.

Yeah, it never happens, it's always with intent to fire.

No malfunctions either, not ever.

Jesus fucking christ, i've served for over 20 years and you might not believe this but yeah, it does happen, both because of malfunction and because of the user.

So no matter how you try to frame it, (that it will do it's intended purpose when trigger is pulled wich would remove the instances where people are just careless enough because of fatigue or something else) there are instances of malfunction and that is NOT the users fault and the weapond might not always work as intended.

That anyone would even try to dispute that is beyond me, it really fucking is.

Did you even read the fucking article? He was screwing around with the gun, trying to put what I can assume is a Houge style grip on the firearm. Hmmm, then magically, the gun goes bang. Quality firearms don't do this, and unless his department carries hi-points or jennings, then he should have been just fine.

Lets say, that a freak instance, when the moon aligned with venus and mars, and haileys comet was traversing the outer edge of the solar system, that the gun did actually decide to fire itself. It's still his damn fault for having the thing pointed at his head. He violated one of the essential firearm safety rules (don't point the gun at anything you don't intend to destroy), and paid for it with his life.

AGAIN you stupid twat, you said, and i quote you here "guns don't go off accidentally" which is a fucking false statement, they DO go off by accident sometimes.

In this case, it most probably didn't but that isn't what i responded to.

I'm sure in a perfect world of bunnies and sunshine and happy lovely perfect guns where you choose to live they "never go off accidentally" but here in the real world they do.

I even explained to you how it happens and that i have the experience and the knowledge to make that claim but yet you must be a fucking twat and say it never happens.

I'm sorry but neverland is closed, reality is open, check back when you want to return to reality.
